I take a first look at the 2020 Yamaha MT-03, which has received similar treatment to the YZF-R3 in 2019, with a suspension upgrade, major styling overhaul and some cool new LED lighting.
Yamaha’s MT-03 has been a formidable option in the beginner segment for a number of years now, based around the same 321 cc powerplant as the R3, and the 2020 updates only refine the already great package.
Futuristic styling, with an LED headlight ensure looks to stand out and a great throw of light down the road. New USD forks and a revised shock setup move the bike into even sportier territory, retaining an extremely low seat height and an inviting package for new riders, with the price remaining competitive at $7,299 ride-away.
Here’s my first thoughts on the baby brother to the popular MT-07, with a full review to come.
