KTM 390 Adventure Lowering Kit Review

I take a look at KTM’s genuine lowering kit accessory, which brings the KTM 390 Adventure down 25 mm at both ends for a more manageable seat height for riders. This means an easier reach to the ground and lower centre of gravity, both of which benefit the bike, but do reduce suspension travel and ground clearance to an extent.

Depending on your use of the 390 Adventure and just how serious your off-road riding is, this mod may be too much of a limiting factor, however for mainly road orientated riders it’s an ideal option if you’re on the shorter side.

The kit cost about $550 AUD, with fitment being a similar amount due to the time required to fit the fork spacers, which mean dismantling the forks. The shock and included sidestand are easy installations, just bolting in, in comparison.

We ordered the lowering kit from MotoHUB Motorcycles in Castle Hill and had it fitted with the first service.
